“Women at the Top”: Research Report by the Evermonte Institute
“Women at the Top” is the latest research study produced by e.Institute and Evermonte Executive Search / AltoPartners Brazil.
Based on a quantitative and qualitative approach, this research investigates the paths, barriers, and strategies that influence the presence of women on boards of directors in Brazil. Through a comparative analysis of 98 profiles (49 women and 49 men), with data extracted from LinkedIn and standardized across ten key dimensions — such as education, executive trajectory, and sectors of activity — the study outlines an objective overview of the structural differences between genders in access to corporate governance. This base is complemented by in-depth interviews with eight female board members from different regions of the country and a meta-analysis of national and international studies, broadening the qualitative understanding of the topic and connecting data to the lived experiences of those who occupy these positions.
Since its launch in Brazil, the study has been featured in over 25 national media outlets, including Forbes and Valor Econômico. It is currently one of the leading studies on boards in the Brazilian landscape, and contributes to a broader understanding of board diversity.
